How to dress when attending a Casting...

The casting/go see
  • Power dressing is essential when meeting with an agency/photographer/client. First impressions are critical; they can either make or break your chances of being chosen for the part.
  • Bright colours are best – greens, blues, yellows, reds NO PASTEL COLOURS.  Ensure that when choosing from bright colours that you do so carefully. Do not mix two colours together; wear one neutral (black or grey) with a bright top.
  • Feeling confident in what you wear is very important. Do not choose something you think will look good but will make your self-confidence drop. Looking confident in what you wear is your first priority. Self-confidence radiates through your outfit and brings an approachable feel to everyone. No one wants to be the ice queen in the back.
The call-back
  • If the casting had a wardrobe, wear the same outfit you wore to the casting.
  • If the casting did not have wardrobe specifications, consider this like you would a job interview. Smart power dressing is crucial. Be approachable and confident, dressing can be a sure sign of sophistication and self-pride. All these factors will culminate towards a successful call-back.
The job

  • Do not think just because you have been chosen for the part that you can now arrive in your spring cleaning outfit. You are allowed to wear more casual clothing but keep it professional. When going to a photographic shoot try not to wear anything that will leave lines (tight clothing).
